Pay What You Vow!

This sermon from Ecclesiastes 5:1-9 emphasizes the importance of maintaining a proper attitude and posture toward God through worship, integrity, and service. It highlights the transformation from being enemies of God to friends through Christ and calls for deliberate, reverent worship, faithful fulfillment of vows, and dutiful care for others as reflections of a Christ-honoring life. Deliberate God-honoring worship: Christians are called to approach God with reverence and humility, worshiping and praying according to His directions with sincere and thoughtful hearts. This deliberate approach honors God and reflects the original pure relationship humanity had with Him. Diligent fulfillment of vows: Integrity and commitment in keeping promises to God and others demonstrate respect and honor toward God. Making vows lightly is cautioned against, and fulfilling them faithfully glorifies God and reflects a right reverence for Him. Dutiful care for others: Followers of Christ are urged to distinguish themselves by seeking the welfare of others and promoting order, stability, and peace in a world marked by corruption and oppression. This reflects God’s character and advances His kingdom "under the sun." Christ-like actions reflect Christ-honoring attitude: The overarching motivation for worship and service is the believer’s identity as Christ’s redeemed and indwelt bride, desiring to worship and serve Him well in every aspect of life, thus demonstrating a posture that honors God in all relationships.
