You Were Made for More Than This

Deep down, most of us sense it — that something is broken. In the world, in our relationships, and if we're honest, in ourselves. The Bible gives a name to that brokenness: sin. And it tells us exactly what to do about it.

The Problem We All Share

The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." That means every one of us — regardless of how good we try to be — has gone our own way instead of God's and that decision has consequences. Hebrews 9:27 tells us there is a judgment coming, and Isaiah 59:2 reminds us that our sin creates a separation between us and a Holy God.

On our own, we can't get across that separation, and no amount of good works, religion, or self-improvement can bridge the gap.

But God didn't leave it there.

The Bridge God Built

Because God loves you — not because you've earned it, but simply because He does — He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do what you never could.

Romans 5:8 tells us: "God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Jesus took your place. He lived the life you couldn't live, and He died the death your sins deserved. Isaiah 53:6 says the Lord laid on Him the sin of us all. Then He rose from the dead — proving that sin and death do not have the final word.

The cross is the bridge. And it's already been built for you.

How Do You Cross It?

The bridge is real, but you have to step onto it. That step is called faith — and it comes paired with repentance.

  • Repentance means turning. Turning away from running your own life and turning toward God.
  • Faith means trusting — not in your own efforts, but fully in what Jesus has already done for you.

These aren't two separate things. They're two sides of the same coin. Before you cross, you love your sin and resist God. After you cross, you love God and resist sin. That's the transformation He offers.

Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it beautifully clear: "It is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

You don't earn it. You receive it.

What You Receive

The moment you place your faith in Christ, everything changes:

  • Peace with God — Romans 5:1
  • You become a child of God — John 1:12
  • Eternal life — John 5:24

This isn't just a ticket to heaven someday. It's a relationship with God that starts right now.

Are You Ready?

If this is making sense to you — if you feel that pull in your heart — that's not a coincidence. You can respond to God right now, wherever you are. There's no special formula, but a sincere prayer like this is a great place to start:

"God, I know I've sinned and I can't save myself. I believe Jesus died for me and rose again. I turn from my old way of living and I trust in You. Thank You for forgiving me and making me Yours. Amen."

If you prayed that and meant it, welcome to the family.

We'd love to hear from you and help you take your next steps.
