“…that they may be called OAKS of righteousness, the planting of the
LORD, that He may be glorified.” - Isaiah 61:3c
Purpose:
1. To glorify God in everything we think, say, and do.
1 Corinthians 10:31 - 31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all
to the glory of God.
2. To love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength and to love
our neighbors as ourselves. Matthew 22:37
3. To unify the women of Oak Street as sisters in Christ and “walk in a manner worthy
of our calling” through various studies and service opportunities.
Colossians 1:9-14 - 9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to
pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual
wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully
pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of
God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all
endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you
to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain
of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have
redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Titus 2:3-5 - Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or
slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 and so train the young women
to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home,
kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
