We have been called to take part and bear witness to a God sized, God empowered task to build the very kingdom of the LORD, through telling people about Jesus, baptizing them and teaching them how to follow after Him.
• Success in evangelism is the act of presenting the gospel itself.
• CONVERSIONS are the fruit that God alone can give.
• CONVERSATIONS are the work that God has given us to do.
Evangelism has three parts…
1. Admit that you are a sinner in need of a savior.
2. Believe in your hear that Jesus died for those sins rose from the dead on the third day.
3. Commit to follow him, the first step being through believers baptism.
Discipleship has three parts:
1. Impart Knowledge - All that they have been commanded.
2. Invest in their lives - living and working side by side
3. Imitate the example -
a. Even Paul made the statement “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1
b. We need to be examples both in the good and bad times.
1. We need to be the example of how we SHOULD live in being the good example
2. We need to also be the example of how to RECOVER from being a bad example
We are not in this alone. When God calls us to do something he doesn’t need your power, know how, skills, or talents. He simply wants your willingness to obey.
